How it works

Bandwidth (bps) = file size (bits) / transfer time (seconds). Note: storage uses base-10 prefixes (1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes) while some network specs use base-2 (1 MiB = 1,048,576 bytes). ISP speeds are in megabits per second (Mbps), not megabytes—divide by 8 to convert. Real-world throughput is 60–80% of rated speed due to protocol overhead and network congestion.
